WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL

WALSH 81, KENTUCKY WESLEYAN 50 Morgan McMillen hit seven 3s and scored 27 points to lead Walsh past Kentucky Wesleyan in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal at Ashland.

McMillen finished 7 of 11 from 3-point range and 10 of 15 from the field overall.

G-MAC Player of the Year Sha Carter hit all seven of field goal attempts for the Cavaliers (26-3), who won their 18th straight game. Mayci Sales scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

An 18-0 second quarter run helped the Cavs grab a 40-24 halftime lead. Walsh outscored Kentucky Wesleyan 41-26 in the second half.

The second-seeded Cavs will face No. 1-seed Ashland in the championship game Saturday at 3 p.m.

MEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL

STEVENS 84, MOUNT UNION 74 Matt LaCorte scored a game-high 31 points as the Ducks upset the Purple Raiders in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Stevens used a 25-9 run to take a 75-67 lead with 3:29 remaining. Mount Union closed to within five in the final three minutes, but the Ducks hit nine free throws to close out the Purple Raiders.

Darrell Newsom hit all six of his 3-pointers and scored 22 points to lead the Purple Raiders, who finish the season at 23-5. Christian Parker scored 14 points. Chris Painter Jr. finished with 11. Ethan Stanislawski added 10.

The loss marked the first time in four NCAA Tournament appearances that Mount Union did not advance out of the first round.

HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL

GARAWAY 62, TUSKY VALLEY 45 Logan Stotzer had 14 points and three rebounds for Tusky Valley in its loss in an East Division III district final game at Claymont High School.

Connar Newsome added 12 points and three assists for Tusky Valley.

Alex Roden was the leading scorer for Garaway with 22 points, five rebounds and two steals.
