Stark County high school football OHSAA playoff qualifiers, first-round schedule for 2022
The second year of the expanded OHSAA football playoffs is quite kind to the Federal League. All seven teams made the state playoffs, a first for the league, traditionally one of the stronger Division I-II leagues in Northeast Ohio.
The Ohio High School Athletic Association released the final computer ratings used to determine the playoff field Sunday, as well as the brackets for the postseason in all seven divisions.
Looking at other area leagues, six of the eight teams in the PAC-7 made the playoffs and four of the six in the EBC advanced to the postseason. From the IVC, two North Division teams reach Week 11 and three from the IVC South are in the playoffs. Each division in the IVC features six teams.
In all, 12 Stark County teams will play into Week 11. All first-round playoff games are this Friday at 7 p.m. Here's a look at where Stark County-area teams are seeded and who they will play in the first round:

OHSAA Division I, Region 1
McKinley (5-5): No. 6 seed and will host No. 11 GlenOak.
Jackson (5-5): No. 8 seed and will host No. 9 Berea-Midpark.
GlenOak (4-6): No. 11 seed and will play at No. 6 McKinley.
OHSAA Division II, Region 7
Massillon (8-1): No. 1 seed and will host No. 16 Perry.
Lake (9-1): No. 2 seed and will host No. 15 Dublin Scioto.
Hoover (7-3): No. 6 seed and will host No. 11 Licking Heights.
Green (4-6): No. 12 seed and will play at No. 5 Big Walnut.
Perry (4-6): No. 16 seed and will play at No. 1 Massillon.
OHSAA Division III, Region 9
Alliance (8-2): No. 12 seed and will play at No. 5 Youngstown Chaney.
OHSAA Division IV, Region 13
West Branch (9-1): No. 1 seed and will host No. 16 Field.
Northwest (7-3): No. 5 seed and will host No. 12 Streetsboro.
Canton South (7-3): No. 7 seed and will host No. 10 Salem.
Salem (6-4): No. 10 seed and will play at No. 7 Canton South.
OHSAA Division IV, Region 15
Carrollton (7-3): No. 15 seed and will play at No. 2 Steubenville.
OHSAA Division V, Region 17
Fairless (8-2): No. 6 seed and will host No. 11 Orrville.
OHSAA Division VI, Region 21
Central Catholic (6-4): No. 7 seed and will host No. 10 Mineral Ridge.
OHSAA Division VI, Region 23
Malvern (8-2): No. 12 seed and will play at No. 5 Dawson-Bryant.
Stark-area team not in the OHSAA playoffs
Louisville and Marlington in Division III, Minerva in Division IV, Sandy Valley and Manchester in Division V, Tuslaw and Tusky Valley in Division VI, and East Canton, St. Thomas Aquinas and Sebring in Division VII.
