Stars of the Day: Dias goes for 38, leads Somerset Berkley boys basketball to big win

SOMERSET — The Somerset Berkley boys basketball team notched another come-from-behind win on Friday.

The Raiders erased a 13-point deficit and defeated league opponent Bourne at home, 70-66, in a South Coast Conference matchup at Somerset Berkley Regional high school.

Ethan Dias had 38 points and 18 rebounds to lead SB (5-4; 4-2 in SCC).

Colton Baptiste added 14 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter. He also pulled down eight rebounds.

The Raiders host Dighton-Rehoboth on Tuesday.

Connolly 76, Avon 59

The Cougars defeated league opponent Avon on the road.

Jah Stephenson paved the way for Connolly (3-1; 2-0 in MAC) with a team-high 20 points.

Mason Humphrey added 19 points while Alex Krynicki and Avery Dinham each finished with 13 points in the win.

The Cougars host Durfee on Monday.

Bishop Stang 63, Dartmouth 49

The Spartans defeated Dartmouth at home.

Luis Vega Jr. leads the way with 21 points, four assists and four rebounds for Stang.

Frank Vollaro added 12 points and seven rebounds. Ben Tingley-Prince also added 10 points.

Ethan Clark had an incredible night defensively, recording six blocks.

The Spartans host Arlington Catholic tomorrow at 3 p.m.

Wareham 61, Joseph Case 53

The Cardinals lost a road game with league opponent Wareham.

Hayden Cayton led all scorers for Case (1-7, 0-6 in SCC) with 22 points.

Landon Cayton added 12 points and Cayden Gonsalves chipped in 11 points.

The Cardinals host Old Rochester on Tuesday.

West Bridgewater 71, Westport 66, OT

The Wildcats lost their first game of the season to West Bridgewater in overetime.

Domanick Vitorino led Westport (9-1) with a game-high 22 points. Ben Boudria added 14 points, including three 3-pointers.

Owen Boudria finished with 11 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Case 62, Wareham 11

The Lady Cardinals easily roll past league opponent Wareham.

Abigail Sirois led Case (7-2) with a team-high 17 points.

Liberty Gazaille chipped in with 15 points and Brooke Orton finished with 11 points.

Diman 63, Southeastern 39

The Lady Bengals had an impressive win against league opponent Southeastern.

Emma Mederios tossed in a career-high 28 points in the win for Diman (4-5; 3-0 in MAC).

Hannah Martin finished with 10 points and Elizabeth Kinnane added six points.

Three other Bengal players chipped in with five points.

Bishop Connolly 49, Avon 15

The Lady Cougars beat league opponent Avon.

Maggie Pabst was top scorer for Connolly (3-1) with 18 points.

Abby Sousa chipped in with 14 and Hannah Anselmo finshed with 10 assists.

The Raiders lost to league opponent Bourne.

Gabriella Nugent led SB (5-5) with a team-high 14 points. Mia Gentile finished with 13 points.

The Lady Wildcats lost to West Bridgewater at home.
