Stars of the Day: Taunton boys basketball bests Bombardiers

TAUNTON — The Taunton boys basketball team's strong run continues and shows no signs of slowing down.

The Tigers defeated Attleboro 71-51 at home in Hockomock League action to improve to 5-1 overall on the season.

Senior Jordan Costa led the Taunton offense with 23 points, 18 of which came in the second half, while fellow senior Trent Santos scored 21 against the Blue Bombardiers.

Tristan Herry also finished in double figures (10) in the victory. Faisal Mass added eight points in the win.

Thursday's Stars: Bristol-Plymouth boys basketball scores big against Atlantis Charter

Bridgewater-Raynham 72, New Bedford 57

The Trojans scored a Southeastern Conference win over the Whalers on the road to improve to 6-2 overall.

Senior Dan McClaren led the way for B-R with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while fellow senior John McClaren scored 14 points, freshman Timmy Bollin had 12 and senior Matt Rein and junior Luke Barry each had 10.

Dighton-Rehoboth 52, Bourne 48

The Falcons got a Mayflower League win down the Cape against the Canalmen to improve to 5-2 on the season.

Ryan Ouellette led the D-R offense with 17 points while Kyle Mello had 14, Nick Antonio had eight and Rian Pontes had seven.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Attleboro 65, Taunton 44

The Tigers fell on the road to the Blue Bombardiers in Hockomock action and are now 1-6 on the season.

Junior Kameron St. Pierre led the way for Taunton with 21 points while sophomore Cali Melo had eight and senior Liv Gannon had six.

Bridgewater-Raynham 65, New Bedford 23

The Trojans earned an SEC win at home against the Whalers to improve to 6-1 overall.

Sophomore Reese Bartlett led the way with 14 points, six assists and three rebounds, while sophomore Natalia Hall-Rosa had 11 points and five steals and junior Emma Flaherty had eight points and five rebounds.

Southeastern 49, Bristol-Plymouth 34

The Lady Craftsmen fell to the Hawks at home in Mayflower League action and are now 3-7 on the season.

Senior Megan Faria led the way for B-P with 22 points while junior Kaylee Baker had six.

Dighton-Rehoboth 65, Bourne 41

The Falcons earned a MAC win at home against the Canalwomen to improve to 3-5 overall.

Senior Briana Malaguti led the D-R offense with 19 points, while junior Ella Damon had 17 points and sophomore Lucy Latour had 12.
