The state bowling meet is this week in Wichita. Here's what you need to know.

State tournament season for high school winter sports in Kansas continues this week with bowling.

All classes will compete at Northrock Lanes in Wichita on Thursday and Friday.

Here's what you need to know.

Ticket and gate information for the state bowling tournament

On both days, girls will bowl in the morning and boys in the afternoon.

General admission tickets for the 6A and 5-1A tournaments on Thursday and Friday can be bought online or at the door. They will cost $10, with the doors at Northrock Lanes opening at 7:15 a.m.

Separate admission will be charged for the girls and boys competitions. Admission from the morning session won't be honored for the afternoon session.

Introductions for the girls will take place at 8:20 a.m. with the competition beginning at 8:50 a.m.

Introductions for the boys will take place at 1:10 p.m. with competition beginning at 1:40 p.m.

Around 11:50 on both days, Northrock lanes will close with all spectators, coaches, and athletes being required to leave. Pass gate and ticket sales will reopen/resume at 12:30 pm for the boy’s tournaments in the afternoon.

In 6A and 5-1A the top three teams at regionals qualified for the state tournament with the six highest individuals scores that aren't members of a qualifying team also qualifying for state individually.

Boys

On Feb. 24, the boys team (3,426) took second as one of three teams to qualify for state behind Olathe Northwest (3,464) and ahead of Olathe North (4,317).

Josh Hammons (717) led the team in the three-game series scores followed by Logan Glinka (646), Reece Godby (612), Walker Thompson (606), Geo Peoples (557) and Tyler Faurot (499).

Hammons had the second best individual overall score with Glinka (9th) also in the top 10.

Girls

On Feb. 24, the girls team (2,842) took second as one of three qualifying teams behind Olathe Northwest (2,842) after the Baker games and ahead of Olathe North (2,688).

Claire Ireland (570) had the team high in the three-game series scores, followed by Elizabeth Poling (506), Ashley Billups (492), Gabby Martinez (446), Taylin Sakers (428) and Hailey Beyer (412).

Ireland had the fifth-best individual overall series.

5-1A

Seaman

Boys

On Feb. 21, the boys team (3,557) won a 5-1A regional tournament, qualifying for the state tournament along with De Soto (3,540) and Emporia (3,329).

Ethan Burns (703) led the team in three-game series scores followed by Riley Parkhurst (655), Zander White (643), Dominic Figueroa (641), Braxton Moore (625) and Alex Prescott (613).

Burns had the third best individual overall series score with Parkhurst (6th), White (8th) and Figueroa (9th) also in the top 10.

Girls

On Feb. 21, the girls team (2,968) won a 5-1A regional tournament, qualifying for the state tournament along with Topeka West (2,705) and Emporia (2,675).

JaeLinn Thetford (6-2) had a team high in the three-game series followed by Cheyenne Turkin (547), Katie Price (505), Kayla Mize (492), Claire LaDuke (466) and Laci Cole (424).

Boys

Dason Tidwell (695) and Alex Rutschmann (618) qualified individually for the boys, with Tidwell having the fourth best individual overall score and Rutschmann tying for 14th.

Girls

On Feb. 21, the girls team (2,705) qualified for state with a second place finish at a 5-1A regional along with Seaman (2,968) and Emporia (2,675).

Megan Wood (629) led the team in the three-game series followed by Brenna Rutschmann (552), Karlee Gilbreath (459), Reagan Kell (438), Hannah Allen (390) and Jordyn Felsburg (321).
