State champions Colin Cernansky, Brylan Holland among Stark County runners of the year

State champions Colin Cernansky of Marlington and East Canton's Brylan Holland are among the Stark County cross country runners of the year selected by the county's coaches.

Cernansky won the Division II boys race at the state meet. The two-time All-Ohioan also won Stark County, Eastern Buckeye Conference, district and regional championships.

Holland became East Canton's first individual state champion when he won the Division III boys race. He finished first in all but three meets this season.

GlenOak's Tommy Rice, Lake's Daniela Scheffler, Marlington's Bella Graham and East Canton's Audrey Wade are the county's other runners of the year.

Rice finished third in the Division I boys race at the state meet. The University of Tennessee commit won Stark County, Federal League, district and regional championships.

Scheffler is the Federal League's girls runner of the year. She won the Stark County and league meets and finished 15th in the Division I race at the state meet.

Graham finished seventh in the Division II girls race at state. She was an Eastern Buckeye Conference district and regional champion.

Wade won the Inter-Valley Conference meet and a Division III district title. She qualified for her first state meet.

Marlington's Melissa Graham-Perkins and Minerva's Olivia Scott are the county's coaches of the year.

Graham-Perkins helped lead the Marlington boys to a second straight Division II state championship. Scott's Minerva girls team finished fourth in Division II at state. Both teams won county titles.
