These State College grocery stores will have adjusted hours for Christmas Eve, holiday
Believe it or not, Christmas is almost here. Whether you’re stocking up on gifts and stocking stuffers or trying to finalize plans for a festive feast, we’ve got your last-minute shopping covered.
While many will be closed Christmas Day, some area stores will also have adjusted hours Sunday for Christmas Eve.
Here’s a brief overview of the holiday hours for grocery markets and liquor stores throughout parts of Centre County. Some of their schedules and services may vary by location, so make sure you check with your preferred site.
Aldi
Aldi’s Centre County stores, located at 780 Benner Pike and 1798 N. Atherton St. in State College, will close at 4 p.m. Christmas Eve, the company says. They are closed entirely Christmas Day and will return to normal operating hours (9 a.m. to 8 p.m.) starting Tuesday, Dec. 26.
Fine Wine & Good Spirits
All four Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores in the State College area — Southridge Plaza, Hamilton Square, North Atherton and Benner Pike — will close by 6 p.m. Christmas Eve. They are closed entirely Christmas Day before returning to their respective operating hours Dec. 26.
Giant
Giant’s stores will be open until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve, while pharmacies will operate from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the company says. All stores and pharmacies will close Christmas Day before returning to normal operations (6 a.m. to 11 p.m.) starting Dec. 26.
Sam’s Club
This membership-only store, located at 381 Benner Pike in State College, will open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Christmas Eve before closing entirely Christmas Day. Normal operating hours from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. return starting Dec. 26.
Target
Target stores nationwide will close for Christmas Day, the company says.
The chain’s locations at 315 Colonnade Blvd. and 201 W. Beaver Ave. in State College will operate from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 24 before expanding hours to 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Dec. 26.
Trader Joe’s
The Trader Joe’s store at 243 Patriot Lane in State College will operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Christmas Eve before closing entirely Christmas Day.
Walmart
Walmart stores across the U.S. will close Christmas Day, the company says.
Walmart’s Centre County stores, located at 1665 N. Atherton St. and 373 Benner Pike in State College, will open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Christmas Eve.
Wegmans
Wegmans’ State College store, located at 345 Colonnade Blvd., will close at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve before shutting down entirely Christmas Day, its website says. Normal operating hours return from 6 a.m. to midnight starting Dec. 26.
Notably, this store’s pharmacy will open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 24 and close alongside the store Dec. 25. It reopens under normal operating hours Dec. 26.
Weis (Bellefonte)
This Weis store, located at 170 Buckaroo Lane in Bellefonte, is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Christmas Eve before closing Christmas Day. It will open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Dec. 26.
Weis (Philipsburg)
This Weis market, located at 501 N. Centre St. in Philipsburg, is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Christmas Eve before closing Christmas Day. It will open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Dec. 26.
Weis (Martin Street)
This Weis store, located 1471 Martin St. in State College, will open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Christmas Eve before closing Christmas Day. It reopens Dec. 26 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Weis (Rolling Ridge Drive)
This Weis store, located at 110 Rolling Ridge Drive in State College, is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed all day for Christmas. It reopens from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 26.
Weis (Westerly Parkway)
This Weis market, located at 560 Westerly Parkway in State College, is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Christmas Eve before closing entirely Christmas Day. It reopens Dec. 26 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
