State Defence Concern Ukroboronprom finally reformed into joint stock company

The state-owned defence industry company Ukroboronprom was terminated on Wednesday, 28 June, and replaced by Ukrainian Defence Industry JSC.

Quote: "Transformation is an important step. Starting today, the activities of the state concern Ukroboronprom have been terminated. A joint-stock company, Ukrainian Defence Industry, has been established instead," he wrote.

Details: The next step in the company's reorganisation will be the transfer of staff, transfer of property and further transformation processes.

The Supervisory Board will then be formed under OECD standards.

Background: The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has appointed a new head of the Ukrainian Defence Industry JSC, Herman Smetanin, 31.

On 28 June, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Yurii Husiev from his position as General Director of Ukroboronprom, further to his letter of resignation.

As we reported earlier, the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Herman Smetanin as the new head of the state-owned Ukroboronprom. European Pravda sources stated that on Saturday, 24 June, the Cabinet of Ministers approved him as the new head of the defence enterprise. This decision was to take effect on 28 June.
