Emma Riley was one of the cornerstone pieces in plenty of success for the Fowler girls basketball program.

And the senior and Saginaw Valley commit helped the Eagles add to that this season.

Riley returned from injury to help Fowler mount a third straight run to final four in Division 4. And her contributions to that success led to her being named first team all-state by the Associated Press.

The 5-foot-7 Riley earned first team all-state honors for a third straight season. She appeared in 16 games for the Eagles, who finished 20-8. Riley entered the final stages of the MHSAA state tournament averaging a team-high 15.1 points and 5.2 rebounds.

Riley's presence was big as Fowler mounted its third straight deep state tournament run. She played a role in wins over No. 6-ranked Summerfield in the regional final and No. 2 Kingston in the quarterfinal.

During her four-year varsity career, Riley helped the Eagles to an 80-19 record and state championships in 2021 and 2022. She surpassed 1,000 career points during Fowler's state-title clinching win last year.

State champion Maple City Glen Lake swept the top honors in Division 4 with Ruby Hogan being named player of the year and Jason Bradford being selected coach of the year.
