Which state is most interested in soccer star Messi? Surprise! It ain’t us (according to one survey anyway)

Google doesn’t know our hearts.

Because if it did, the online search behemoth would know that no other state has more love for Lionel Messi — the soccer rocker who signed with Inter Miami — than Florida.

But that is not what Gambling.com found when the marketing/media company analyzed Google Trends and released findings on “Which States are Most Interested in Lionel Messi.”

Florida is not Numero Uno for being mad for Messi. How is that even possible? Word that the Argentinian Ace was joining Inter Miami sent ticket prices soaring, something that hadn’t previously happened even with soccer icon David Beckham being a co-owner of the team. (Clearly, we Floridians are willing to pay big bucks to satisfy our pitch itch, so that should be a part of Google’s algorithm.)

According to Gambling.com, we came in third place. Third. Place. Seriously, what-the-fútbol?

California was No. 2 and at the very tip top of the list was … New Jersey. Since so many people from the Garden State are transplants to the Sunshine State, we should get some of those numbers, but that is not the way it is … apparently … because Google doesn’t know our hearts.
