State Police: Alexandria man killed while walking on La. 28 West early Tuesday

A man walking on La. Highway 28 West was killed early Tuesday when he was hit by a car, according to Louisiana State Police.

The pedestrian was identified as David W. Paige, 58, of Alexandria.

A news release states Paige was walking before 5 a.m. in the eastbound lane of the divided highway near Stovall Road, which is beside Hope Baptist Church. He was hit by a 2019 Ford Fiesta and died at the scene.

Paige's death is the 46th fatality of 2022 in Troop E, and the 44th fatal crash. The wreck remains under investigation.
