Unidentified woman killed in crash on Brewers Neck Blvd

CARROLLTON, Va. (WAVY) – Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Isle of Wight County Tuesday night.

According to officials, police received a call for a single vehicle crash on Jan. 23 at approximately 11:02 p.m. on Brewers Neck Boulevard, near Carrollton Elementary School.

Police say the driver of a 2004 Ford Taurus was traveling north on Brewers Neck Boulevard, when she lost control of the vehicle and ran into a ditch. This caused the vehicle to overturn several times and eject the driver, who state police say was not wearing a seatbelt.

Due to the extent of the woman’s injuries, a positive identification could not be made.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will work to determine who the driver of the vehicle was.

It is unclear at this time if speed or alcohol were contributing factors as crews continue to investigate the crash.
