State Police investigating shooting outside South Transit fast food restaurant
Sep. 25—State Police are investigating a Monday night shooting incident in the parking lot of a Lockport fast food restaurant.
New York State Police say a person was shot in an "isolated incident" on South Transit Road.
Troopers responded to Wendy's on South Transit about 7:40 p.m. for reports of a possible shooting incident. Once on the scene, troopers determined that a group of people was in the parking lot when a male "brandishing a weapon" shot another person.
The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of police.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center with non-life threatening injures.
Members of the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Forensic Identification Unit, Niagara County Sheriff's Office and the Lockport Police Department are assisting in the investigation.
