State police investigating Southbury stabbing

Police are investigating a Southbury incident during which a man was allegedly stabbed when two men came into the home where the victim was doing construction work, state police said.

State police said they learned of the incident after Southbury police received a 911call just after 12:20 p.m. Tuesday from a person who reported she had been approached by two men who asker her to call 911 for them.

“Responding officers found one of the males to be suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen,” state police said in a statement. “The injured male was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

State Police Western District Major Crime unit detectives then learned “that the victims had been working construction at a residence on Bucks Hill Road, in Southbury, when two males allegedly entered the residence, one armed with a firearm and the other with a knife.”

The victims told investigators they were restrained, assaulted, and robbed by the two men, police said.

The detectives determined the suspects are known to one of the victims, state police said, and the incident is believed “to be a targeted, isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.”

State police said the investigation remains active. Anyone with information is asked to contact Troop A, at (203)267-2200. All calls will be kept confidential.
