State police probe Crawford crash that killed Linesville man, seriously injured 3 others

An Erie man charged with having inappropriate sexual contact with a boy at Harborcreek Youth Services on Jan. 3 is now accused by the Pennsylvania State Police of sexually assaulting another boy at the Harborcreek Township facility.

MEADVILLE — Pennsylvania State Police troopers are investigating a weekend crash in Crawford County involving two vehicles that killed a Linesville man and seriously injured three others.

The crash was reported on Saturday at about 3:15 p.m. on Harmonsburg Road in Summit Township, according to state police in Meadville.

Troopers reported that the driver of a 2003 Ford F-150XLT, traveling east on Harmonsburg Road, lost control on the wet roadway and entered the westbound lane, where it collided with a 2005 Toyota Tacoma.

The driver of the Toyota, identified by state police as 79-year-old Hugh Elliott of Linesville, was pronounced dead at the scene by Crawford County Coroner Scott Schell. A 73-year-old female passenger in Elliott's vehicle, the 23-year-old male driver of the Ford and a 27-year-old male passenger in the Ford, all of Linesville, were taken to UPMC Hamot with suspected serious injuries, according to state police.
