The White Pigeon wrestling team piled up 31 victories this past season.

It was the most by any Chief wrestling team in the school’s history. On Friday, the Chiefs were honored by Michigan State Representative Steve Carra, with a visit. He brought with him a Special Tribute from the State of Michigan. That tribute will hang in the halls at White Pigeon, a document signed by Carra, State Senator Jonathan Lindsey, Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II and Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

Carra spoke to the Chiefs inside the school’s library on Friday afternoon.

“It’s nice to be able to congratulate these young men who worked hard over this past year and set the record with the best season in White Pigeon history,” Carra said. “I’m looking forward to seeing what comes with their futures. With their work ethic they showed, I hope it transpires to wonderful things for them in their roads ahead.”

Sosinski and members from the Chief team were able to take photos with Carra following the reading of the document honoring the squad.

“I didn’t know this was possible, so to have something like this — it’s quite an honor for these kids,” Soinski said. “The season exceeded our expectations. It’s good to know what these guys are capable of and I’m glad they had the success they were able to have.”

Sosinski also presented Carra with a gift from the team — a Chiefs wrestling team polo shirt.
