The state swim and dive meet is this weekend in Lenexa. Here's what you need to know.
State tournament season for high school winter sports in Kansas has arrived.
Up first are the boys swimming and diving state championships taking place from Thursday to Saturday at the Shawnee Mission School District Aquatic Center in Lenexa.

All classes will compete in Lenexa
All classes, 6-1A, will compete at the Shawnee Mission School District Aquatic Center at 17251 W. 87th Parkway, Lenexa, 66219.
On Feb. 16, gates will open at 9 a.m. with the first event beginning at 11:30 a.m. and on Feb. 17 and 18, gates will open at 8 a.m. with the first event beginning at 9 a.m.

Tickets
General admission tickets will cost $10 with Pre-K age children admitted for free and can be purchased digitally via gofan.
Tickets can also be purchased in person at the aquatic center with cash or credit card.

Topeka-area athletes and teams competing at state
Topeka High (6A), Washburn Rural (6A), Hayden (5-1A) Seaman (5-1A), Shawnee Heights (5-1A) and Topeka West (5-1A) will be representing the Topeka-area schools.
Events are listed in order and in parenthesis next to the events are the times needed to qualify and be in consideration.
In parenthesis next to the Topeka-area swimmers and relay teams are their times in the event as well as where that puts them in terms of other qualifying and consideration times.
There are consideration times, meaning a time for an event that swimmers must be faster than in order to be considered for entry, and qualification times, how fast swimmers must swim an event prior to the state meet to be allowed to swim that event in the state meet.
