4-year-old suffers life-threatening injuries after crash in Clark County

Ohio State Highway Patrol Sergeant Ross told News Center 7 that the child still has life-threatening injuries, but is stable at this time.

INITIAL REPORT:

A child was seriously injured after a crash in Clark County Tuesday afternoon.

Around 5:40 p.m. Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers were called to a crash with serious injuries at the intersection of state Route 571 and U.S. 40, according to a spokesperson for OSP.

An initial investigation found that a car driven by Spencer Lee, 24, of Franklin was traveling south on SR-571 when he failed to yield at the intersection, hitting a car driven by Amie Barney, 42, of Fairborn.

Barney was taken to Soin Medical Center with serious injuries.

Barney’s passenger, a 4-year-old, suffered life-threatening injuries, according to OSP.

Lee sustained minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital.
