State vocational rehabilitation division goes all virtual with April 27 rapid-hire event

Apr. 12—The New Mexico Division of Vocational Rehabilitation is trying something new to hire 16 people across the state: an all-virtual Rapid Hire event on April 27.

Division Director Tina Tawater believes DVR is the first state agency to do an all-virtual event where candidates never have to leave their homes to apply, get interviewed and, possibly, be offered a job.

Applications opened April 4, and people can apply until 5 p.m. at the end of the event, which runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Jobs include vocational rehabilitation counselors and technicians, positions in finance and information technology, and an executive assistant. Openings are in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Española, Farmington and Roswell. All positions are filled in the southwestern quadrant of the state, Tawater said.

Annual pay for these jobs ranges from $28,249 to $59,553.

Job seekers can apply at dvr.cynaptx.com/external/careerfair/260 and upload their résumés, references and transcripts (depending on the job) and schedule an interview time for April 27.

"HR will review résumés to make sure they qualify," Tawater said. "We will interview everyone who applies [and qualifies] before 5 p.m. on April 27."

Interviews will last 15 minutes. Each job will have at least two interviewers.
