Statewide alert issued for East Sparta man, 82, now canceled

EAST SPARTA ‒ The Stark County Sheriff's Office has now canceled a statewide alert for Victor Rivas, 82, who was reported missing from his home on Cleveland Avenue SE at 2:33 p.m. Tuesday.

He suffers from dementia and is known to leave and get lost from time to time, authorities said.

He is a white male, 5-foot-5 feet, weighing 125 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes.

The vehicle involved is a red 2010 Chevrolet HHR with Ohio license plate JFR6547.

The sheriff's office canceled the missing persons notice at 5:14 p.m. No additional information on Rivas was released.
