Stats and Highlights: Jordan Poole scores career-high 26 points in Warriors loss to Suns

Since the beginning of the G League season, Warriors guard Jordan Poole has found himself in Orlando, helping lead the Santa Cruz Warriors to a 10-3 record, the second best record in the entire league. But on Thursday, Poole was in Phoenix, getting buckets for the Golden State Warriors against the Suns.

Fresh off his return from the G League bubble in Orlando, Jordan Poole stepped right in with no issues in last night’s 120-98 loss against the Suns. With Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Kelly Oubre Jr. all out last night, the Warriors were in need of a scoring punch and Poole did just that.

In 26 minutes off the bench, Poole scored a career-high 26 points on 10 of 16 shooting and 5 of 10 from downtown.

In his first game back on the floor in a Warriors uniform since Jan. 30 against the Detroit Pistons, Poole looked as comfortable as ever. And with Curry and Oubre Jr. out of the lineup, he had the ultimate green light just as he’s accustomed to when he’s down in the G League bubble with the Sea Dubs.

In 11 games with the Santa Cruz Warriors this season, the former Michigan Wolverine is averaging 22.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. Poole ranks second in the G League in scoring, only behind Kevin Porter Jr. of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Poole’s hot-streak began in the second quarter, scoring a quick, efficient 12 points in the second frame to keep the Warriors within reaching distance before halftime.

Whether it was slicing through the lane for a nifty lay-up or knocking down a contested 3-pointer from the parking lot, Poole was hitting from all angles in the Talking Stick Resort Arena.

We’ll see if Poole’s performance last night earned him more minutes in the Warriors rotation in the second half of the season.
