Café Arazu in Newburgh will be closed on Mondays until further notice. On Tuesdays, the new Tour Arazu platter will be on the menu with a selection of house favorites from lamb chops, chicken and beef to rice dishes, stuffed tomato, salad and more.

Ghost Quesadilla’s West Side restaurant and bar is now open, serving the creative tacos, quesadillas, rice bowls and appetizers you enjoy at the original Newburgh spot with a larger menu and new choices. It is kid-friendly until 8 p.m.

The Haynie’s Corner Pro Bowl Chili Cook Off is Sunday, Feb. 6. We’re telling you now so you can start working on recipes and gathering equipment. There is no entry fee or registration, simply bring ingredients and equipment to the outdoor lot next to the Alhambra Theater, start cooking whenever you want to, and have chili and one side ready to present to judges by 4:30 p.m. The contest will take place outdoors regardless of weather. The soup and side must be entirely cooked on site. Ingredients may be chopped ahead, but no cooking ahead or pre-made ingredients will be permitted. The public may sample unlimited chili until it runs out beginning at 5:30 p.m. for a $10 donation.

La Campirana is now offering carry-out or delivery only lunch boxes. For $8.49 choose from a quesadilla, giant sope, or alambres (all served with rice), or a burrito, salad with meat or torta sandwich. All boxes include a side of fresh fruit salad. Office delivery is available for an order of five or more lunch boxes.
