Steam Clouds Rise on La Palma as Lava Collides With Sea
Lava continued to flow from the Cumbre Vieja volcano across the Spanish island of La Palma on November 23, contributing to a new headland on the island more than two months after eruptions began.
This footage, released by the Canary Islands Volcanology Institute (Involcan) shows steam rising as the hot lava touches the ocean. The institute also observed a cloud of dust above the landslides.
Airline Binter Canarias on November 23 suspended activity at La Palma’s airport for the fourth day in a row due to volcanic activity.
