Steamtown hosts 'Stuff the Caboose' event Saturday evening

Nov. 17—The public can enjoy some seasonal cheer and assist with a worthy cause when Steamtown National Historic Site hosts a "Stuff the Caboose" event on Saturday evening.

With the holidays just around the corner, Steamtown and its partners are asking for help to restock the United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania Food Pantry with donations of non-perishable food items.

Visitors can interact with Scranton's police and fire departments and their equipment, enjoy s'mores over a horizontal "Ring of Fire" and see locomotives decorated with holiday lights. There will also be photo opportunities with the former Nay Aug Park Miniature Train.

The free family event is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. at the historic site.
