Steelers HC Mike Tomlin shares lengthy injury list at Tuesday press conference

Over the course of the last several days, injuries have gone from a slight concern to a significant worry for the Pittsburgh Steelers. At his Tuesday press conference, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin shared some updates on the current injuries on the team and disclosed a couple of new ones.

Ben Roethlisberger – left pec

Alex Highsmith – groin

– T.J. Watt – groin

Joe Haden – groin

Devin Bush – groin

Diontae Johnson – knee

The injuries to Roethlisberger and Highsmith are new and were not disclosed by Tomlin after the game. Tomlin was intentionally vague about all these players in terms of status for this week’s game with the Cincinnati Bengals by we should have a better feel for where they are after Wednesday’s practice.

If Watt and Highsmith cannot go, this leaves the Steelers incredibly thin at outside linebacker and could push undrafted rookie Jamir Jones into an increased role.

These injuries are in addition to putting starting nose tackle Tyson Alualu on IR this weekend with a fractured ankle.
