Stella McCartney creates lingerie in support of the fight against breast cancer

Kate Moss for Stella McCartney Lingerie

The London-based designer, who lost her mother to the disease, is supporting Breast Cancer Awareness month with a neon pink lingerie range.

Taking place this October, Breast Cancer Awareness month is a global initiative to fight the disease, and Stella McCartney is doing her bit. The designer, who showed her latest Spring/Summer 2015 collection this week in Paris, has put together the 'Gemma Relaxing' range.

"I wanted to remind women that when they wear this set, the first thing they put on in the morning, to keep on top of their health and visit their doctor regularly" explained McCartney. "I wanted it to be the initial starting point of awareness of this terrible illness. Not only does the set serve as a healthy reminder, but it looks great, fits incredible well, and is comfortable and stylish"

Part of the Fall/Winter 2014 Lingerie Collection, the pink pieces include a contour bra, a soft cup bra and a bikini brief. Stella managed to rope in her old friend Kate Moss ("a strong feminine woman" according to the designer) to support the initiative, and the model appears in the underwear in a cheeky image which uses the Breast Cancer Awareness pink ribbon to cover her breast.

Prices range from €35 for the bikini brief to €60 for the Balconnet Bra, and a percentage of profits from sales will go towards the Linda McCartney Centre in Liverpool, UK which was founded in 2000 where the proceeds will fund a new mammography suite at the center. The collection will go on sale online, in Stella McCartney stores and at select retailers globally.
