‘Step Up’ Canceled At Starz After Moving To Network For Its New Season

After one season on the network, Starz has canceled Step Up. There will be no fourth season for the show, and the upcoming season 3 finale will serve as the series finale next week.

Inspired by the film franchise, Step Up followed Sage Odom (Ne-Yo), the famous creator of Atlanta’s renowned High Water Performing Arts School, and Collette (Christina Milian), his partner in High Water and in life, who are the focus of the story.

In season three, Milian replaced the late Naya Rivera in the role of Collette.

The series also stars Faizon Love, Eric Graise, Terayle Hill, Enrique Murciano and Tricia Helfer.

Step Up’s first two seasons, which were produced by Lionsgate TV were on YouTube Red / YouTube Premium when it was in the scripted streaming business. A third season of the original written series was taken up by Lionsgate’s Starz.

Holly Sorensen is the creator and executive producer of 'Step Up.'

Producers of the original Step Up movies, Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot, also executive produce under Offspring Entertainment.

Both Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan, who co-starred in the first Step Up movie, executive produce under their respective production companies, Free Association and Everheart Productions, Inc.

Step Up’s demise comes after it was announced that Dangerous Liaisons, another Lionsgate TV production, was canceled by Starz yesterday after receiving an early Season 2 renewal.
