WOOSTER − Mike Davidson, president/CEO of Buehler’s Fresh Foods, is chairing the American Heart Association’s 2023 Wayne County Heart Walk, an event that draws more than 500 community members and aims to raise over $220,000 to fight heart disease and stroke.

Davidson also chaired the 2022 Heart Walk, helping to raise more than $200,000, according to a news release.

“I am honored to serve as chair of this year’s Heart Walk and our Executive Leadership Team,” Davidson said in the release. “Buehler’s Fresh Foods takes its commitment to health very seriously. We are dedicated to promoting a culture of wellness and committed to the health and wellbeing of Wayne County residents and Buehler’s Fresh Foods customers throughout Ohio. Heart disease is still the number one killer of men and women, claiming more than 2,000 lives in our community alone.”

The 2023 Wayne County Heart Walk will be held Thursday, Sept. 7, at Oak Hill Park Donald & Alice Noble Trail. The walk kicks off at 5 p.m. with a Healthy for Good Festival, including health screenings, hands-only CPR demonstrations, a Kids Zone and more. The walk beings at 5:45 p.m.

The walk is designed to create a stronger community among participants, instill a passion for reducing disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke and generate excitement for a new or renewed commitment to heart-healthy living through physical activity and healthy eating, according to the release.

“The work of the American Heart Association is critical to the health of our community,” Davidson said. “Funds raised during the Heart Walk will advance education and research that will directly affect the health of Wayne County residents.”
