Stephen Colbert warns Chris Christie he may not be allowed back on 'Late Show' if Trump is reelected

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie appeared Thursday on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and the life-long conservative shared his support for Donald Trump. In fact, Christie said he is helping with the president’s reelection campaign. This news was upsetting for host Stephen Colbert, who likes Christie but despises Trump.

As the interview was coming to a close, Colbert had one request for Christie. “Please don't help this man get reelected,” he said.

Christie asked if Trump’s reelection would have an impact on whether or not he would be invited back on the show, to which Colbert replied, “We'll see. If I find out you got that man elected you will be on the bubble.”

Christie has appeared on the show several times and despite being polar opposites politically the two have gotten along well. But maybe not as well as Christie thought?

”You and I have fun together,” said Christie. To which Colbert replied, “You're overestimating what I think fun is.”

Christie reminded Colbert of the many glasses of tequila that they have shared on the show. Colbert fired back, “I did not know you were going to help Trump get reelected back then.”

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
