Stephen King's The Dark Tower series not picked up by Amazon
Amazon Studios' ambitious TV adaptation of The Dark Tower has been thrown into uncertainty after the pilot reportedly failed to win over executives.
Based on Stephen King's eight-strong book series, which fuses horror with western and fantasy elements, the show was supposed to slip away from the unsuccessful movie (released in 2017) and carve its own path focusing on The Gunslinger's younger days.
However, according to Deadline, Amazon has now decided against a series order.

Still, there could be light at the end of the tunnel for Roland Deschain and his trusty ka-tet, as the production company is now said to be shopping around two of the show's original scripts in search of a new home.
With the rumoured cast including The Walking Dead's Michael Rooker, EastEnders star Sam Strike and Game of Thrones favourite Jerome Flynn, alongside some truly unique source material, The Dark Tower stands a great chance of getting picked up elsewhere.
So if you're keen to see it, don't give up hope just yet.
