Stephen “tWitch” Boss’ family members and his longtime colleague Ellen DeGeneres paid tribute during a memorial service nearly two months after his death.

The entertainer’s wife, Allison Holker Boss, and their 14-year-old daughter, Weslie, were among those who spoke at the celebration of life in Los Angeles, according to People.

“He was the light,” Holker Boss said at Saturday’s service. “He chose love, grace and kindness. And he deserves to be celebrated.”

Boss, 40, died by suicide on Dec. 13, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner said.

Boss joined “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” as a DJ in 2014 and became an executive producer in 2020. He remained with the syndicated program until its final episode last year.

DeGeneres also spoke at Saturday’s service, as did the rapper Lil Wayne. The musical artists Mickey Guyton and Andy Grammer both performed.

In a statement shortly after his death, DeGeneres described Boss as “pure love and light.”

“He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart,” the comedian tweeted at the time. “I will miss him.”

Boss rose to fame as a contestant on “So You Think You Can Dance” in 2008. He returned to the reality show two years later for an all-star season, during which he met his wife. He and Holker Boss had three kids together.

He was reportedly laid to rest at a private funeral service last month.
