Stephen Wolverton takes on 'Jekyll and Hyde'

The Cambridge Performing Arts Center is bringing "Jekyll and Hyde," a play by Leonard Caddy, to Cambridge.

The dark melodrama follows Dr. Jekyll as he experiments to discover man's inner reality. When an experiment on himself goes awry, he discovers his sinister side in the form of Edward Hyde. Friends, family, and Dr. Jekyll himself find themselves adjusting to the horror of Hyde and ultimately turn to drastic measures.

The role of Henry Jekyll is portrayed by Stephen Wolverton, while his love interest, Celestine, is played by Tricia Wurzbach. Nathan Kennedy, Annie Baker, Vince Vaughn, Luca Mummy, Scotti Wolfrom-Mesarchik and Mary Beth Sills round out the cast.

The role of the child is portrayed by brothers Bryson and Cameron Daugherty. Director Beth Hughes has been involved with the Cambridge Performing Arts Center in various ways for more than 23 years, both on stage and off.

The show is scheduled to run at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 17, 18, 24, and 25, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 19 and 26. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased by visiting www.cambridgetheater.org.
