Video Transcript

- People in Sacramento are reacting to the guilty verdict, as well.

- CBS13's Laura Haefli is live at Cesar Chavez Park in downtown. Laura?

LAURA HAEFELI: The now murder of George Floyd by former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin sparked outrage across the country, including here in Sacramento, where protesters turned Cesar Chavez Park into a kind of headquarters for demonstrations through this summer and after that, as well. Many of those demonstrations led by Stevante Clark, the brother of Stephon Clark, who we know was shot and killed by Sacramento Police officers back in 2018. Now just a short time ago, we spoke to Sevante, and here's what he had to say about justice for George Floyd.

STEVANTE CLARK: If we don't recognize the difference between justice and accountability, anything can look like justice. And we'll take whatever. George Floyd is dead. The way the family could be feeling, if you ask me, they miss Stephon. They miss George Floyd. They miss Daunte Wright.

LAURA HAEFELI: And we did ask Stevante if he is expecting protests or demonstrations later on this evening here at Cesar Chavez Park or elsewhere in Sacramento. He says he's not focused on protest as much as he is on police reform and legislation. Of course, we will keep an eye on any protests that may happen.

- We'll be checking in with you throughout the evening. All right, Laura, thanks so much.
