Steuben County woman killed in 2-vehicle Wayland crash, young son hospitalized

A young woman was killed and two other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash late Wednesday morning in the Steuben County Town of Wayland.

New York State Police identified the victim as Kalie M. Moses, 27, of Wayland.

The crash occurred shortly before 11:30 a.m. on state Route 21 near Isaman Road in Wayland, state police said.

The investigation determined Moses and her 5-year-old son were northbound on Route 21 when she drifted off the east shoulder of the road, troopers said.

Moses overcorrected, causing her vehicle to slide sideways across the north and southbound lanes, striking the driver side of a Federal Express delivery van.
