Helen Glover and her husband Steve Backshall have welcomed twins together.

Olympic rowing champion Glover announced the arrival of their baby boy and baby girl on social media, in a sweet post captioned: “We’re gonna need a bigger boat!”

The 33-year-old, who is already mum to 18-month-old son Logan, wrote: “Welcome to the world little ones.

“Your big brother is already setting the pace and is so pleased to meet you.”

“Tips for surviving 3 under 2 on a postcard please,” she joked.

TV naturalist Backshall, 46, wrote on his Instagram: “Being a twin is like being born with a soulmate.

“A best friend always on hand to play, fight, argue and make up stories with. And Helen should know, being a twin herself.

“All I know is that life is about to get double the crazy. And we couldn’t be happier.”

The couple welcomed Logan in 2018 after Glover lost his twin part way through her pregnancy.

The pair announced they were expecting twins in March 2018 but just a month later Glover revealed that she had lost one of the babies.

She told her Twitter followers at the time: “Thanks for all your lovely messages.

“We've had the hard news that one baby hasn't made it but we are very excited and hopeful for the remaining baby to arrive this summer.”

Baby Logan was born happy and healthy in July that year.

The couple revealed in October last year that they were expecting again.

Backshall and Glover met when they both took part in Sport Relief back in 2014. They announced their engagement in 2015 and married a year later in Cornwall.
