Steve Harvey has plenty of tips and tricks up his sleeve.

Just over a month after he gave insight into how he keeps his iconic mustache looking effortlessly on point, the Family Feud host shared this week how he takes care of slippery dress shoes, which are part of his everyday suit-and-tie ensemble.

On Thursday, the Facebook Watch talk show star posted an Instagram video showing him getting down to business with a knife in his hand. “Slippery leather soles? Go get you a Steak knife,” he captioned his demonstration. “Cut/Criss Cross...Straight up and down. Kills all the slip. Done.”

With Steve’s years of experience in front of TV cameras and walking around a studio chatting with audience members, it’s no surprise he’s learned a thing or two about how to handle situations like this one.

“Never thought of that 🧐,” one person wrote. “Great tip Mr. Harvey! Thank you. You're a great man,” another added. “Ole school knowledge!! ❤️❤️🙌🏾,” a follower commented. “Teach them uncle Steve teach them. That’s right,” wrote another, while someone else said, "Good idea 💡 never knew this."

While some fans said they prefer to go outside and “scuff them on the concrete,” others weren’t sure if slicing the bottom of dress shoes was the best idea. “..Man I feel like that's damage to the sole! Lol,” a fan said. “Doesn’t that ruin the soles?” another asked.

Questions aside, there was an unexpected detail that viewers caught after Steve finished cutting and crisscrossing. After successfully giving his soles traction, Steve is seen handing off the knife to a person off camera blade first.

“Steve really be giving him the knife with the blade facing out,” a follower commented. “I watched twice and was thinking the same thing like no Steve you don't pass a knife like that,” another person responded.

Regardless of all these opinions and whether or not fans follow his lead and try out this trick themselves, we’re sure everyone can appreciate Steve sharing his one-of-a-kind wisdom about the little things in life.
