Steve Harvey Fans Have Strong Feelings About His New Talk Show

From Good Housekeeping

  • Steve Harvey is set to launch a new talk show on Facebook called STEVE on Watch.

  • The program will premiere on January 6, 2020.

  • NBC canceled the Family Feud star's daytime talk show Steve earlier this year after seven seasons.

After NBC bumped Steve Harvey's talk show to make way for Kelly Clarkson's daytime program this summer, the longtime TV host made it clear that he was optimistic about his future. As we know now, Steve's future includes hosting another talk show — this time, on Facebook.

On Tuesday, Facebook Watch announced that it will air STEVE on Watch beginning January 6, 2020. The first batch of episodes will run for 10 weeks, with multiple segments airing per week.

"Get ready for insightful perspectives, unfiltered responses, and surprising takes on the everyday issues affecting his audience," the announcement declares, adding that Steve "will interview remarkable people doing amazing things, get the real story of viral sensations, and get personal with some of the biggest stars of film, TV, and music."

"Reaching my audience anywhere and everywhere they are has always been the goal," Steve said in a statement. "Facebook Watch viewers are the most energetic, engaged community, and so are my amazing fans."

Amazing fans, indeed. Upon hearing the news, many took to Twitter to express their utter excitement. "I will be watching bossman! As you PREMIERE on my BIRTHDAY!! CONGRATULATIONS," one fan tweeted. "Yessssss, I knew it! I am so happy for you, they should have never taken it [the talk show] off," another said. "I'm so glad to hear that! ... We miss watching you Steve..." a different fan claimed.

Steve's big announcement comes days after he hosted the 2019 Miss Universe pageant. Besides that, he has spent the last few months working to launch Family Feud in South Africa and Ghana (which will reportedly premiere in 2020), spearheading a standup comedy contest, and hosting his annual Sand and Soul Festival in Cancun, Mexico.

Now that he's back to hosting his own talk show, we're sure 2020 will be another big year for Steve.
