Kerr, Klay recall nervous feeling on HB's Game 4 buzzer shot originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

The intensity was palpable in the final seconds of the Warriors' 126-125 win over the Sacramento Kings in Game 4 of their first-round NBA playoff series Sunday at Chase Center.

Time appeared to move in slow motion once the ball left Kings forward Harrison Barnes' hands as he attempted a game-winning shot with 1.7 seconds remaining and Golden State leading by one point. Clank.

The Warriors were able to breathe a sigh of relief, with the best-of-seven series now tied headed back to Sacramento for Game 5.

In speaking to NBC Sports Bay Area's Kerith Burke after the game, Warriors coach Steve Kerr described his emotions watching Barnes' potential game-winning shot.

"I'm thinking 'Man, I just saw this in Game 1 with [Andrew Wiggins] in a similar situation,' " Kerr said. "Open look for game and this is just sometimes how it works. Ball goes in, ball doesn't go in and tonight we got a break. Game 1 they got a break and we're probably right where we should be in this series."

Warriors guard Klay Thompson, who is friends with Barnes, was relieved to see his former teammate miss the big shot.

"Ah man, I was nervous. I'm very happy Harrison missed it," Thompson told reporters after the game. "He's still my guy, but I was hoping he missed it really badly and sometimes you need a break like that this point in the year. It was just a gutsy win and big, big defensive stop."

The Warriors were on the right side of a game-winning shot a week after Wiggins' last-second shot in the waning moments of Golden State's three-point loss to Sacramento in Game 1 at Golden 1 Center.

With the series tied at two games apiece, the Warriors will look to ride the momentum from back-to-back wins into a Game 5 matchup in Sacramento on Wednesday.
