Former two-time MVP Steve Nash has now added some new silverware to his closet. For the month of February, Steve Nash has been named the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month.

He led the Brooklyn Nets to an Eastern Conference best with a record of 9-4 for the month. Nash is the first Nets coach in seven years to win the award. The last person to do it was Jason Kidd during the 2014 campaign.

The Hall of Famer is also the fifth coach in Nets history to win Player of the Month. The other coaches who won the award were Jason Kidd (2014), Bryon Scott (2002-2003), Lawrence Frank (2004-2007), and Avery Johnson (2012) via Nets PR.

With Steve Nash and James Harden taking home their respective awards for the month of February, this is also the first time since 2007 that the Nets have both a player and a coach taking home a Coach of the Month and a Player of the Month. In 2007, Lawrence Frank and Vince Carter did the same, according to Nets PR.

As a rookie head coach, things are off to a great start for Nash.
