Steve Wright's BBC Radio 2 show Sunday Love Songs has confirmed it will return with a new host.

The beloved DJ's death was announced last week at the age of 69, with a flood of tributes shared in the wake of the sad news.

It has now been revealed that fellow Radio 2 presenter Nicki Chapman will continue to present the show starting this weekend (February 25) and up until at least March 31, before a permanent host is signed on.

“It will be a privilege to present Sunday Love Songs in the coming weeks, so please do tune in and keep me company as I share the listeners’ favourite songs alongside their heart-warming stories and memories of loved ones," Chapman said.

Last weekend's episode of the show was presented by Liza Tarbuck as she read tribute messages to Wright.

Upon the announcement of the DJ's death, his family said in a statement: "It is with deep sorrow and profound regret that we announce the passing of our beloved Steve Wright.
