This roundup features a couple of development updates.
Cousins Subs will open next year
Cousins Subs is on track to open its new location early next year.
Last October, Kristen Tracy, the public relations manager for Cousin’s Subs, told the Stevens Point Journal the company planned to open at the former Kmart property in summer 2022. In January, the plan was pushed to late fall.
Earlier this month, the company shared the new estimated opening will be early 2023.
The project has been moving along, but it has taken longer than originally expected because of construction delays, Tracy said.
The drive-thru sandwich shop will have indoor and outdoor seating and will replace the current location at 641B Division St.
Tommy’s Express on track to open next spring
Tommy’s Express Car Wash is also scheduled to open in March or April.
Carrie Caldwell, the communications manager for Tommy’s Express, said the project broke ground in May, and the car wash – also at the former Kmart property – is projected to be up and running this spring, but the specific date will depend on this winter’s weather.
Tommy’s Express will be a drive-thru car wash with exterior vacuums.
Stevens Point officials approved plans for both Cousins Subs and Tommy’s Express Car Wash last October, redeveloping the north end of the former Kmart property.
