The first hour of the 2019 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony was an all-Stevie Nicks extravaganza, and luckily for her fans, it was just as star-studded and freewheeling as anyone could have expected.

Even if she did mistakenly claim that Harry Styles was a member of ’N Sync.

Nicks made history at Friday's induction ceremony, becoming the first female artist to be inducted into the Rock Hall twice, first with Fleetwood Mac in 1998 and this year for her accomplished solo work. She kicked off the ceremony performing "Stand Back" and "Leather and Lace" before inviting a special friend onstage to take the place of one of her beloved collaborators, the late Tom Petty.

Nicks brought Harry Styles, the former One Direction member and current classic rock acolyte, to perform Petty's portion of their 1981 collaboration, "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around."

Nicks closed her set out with her iconic hit "Edge of Seventeen" before Styles returned to the stage to induct her into the Rock Hall, delivering a moving speech and calling her "everything you ever wanted in a lady, in a lover and in a friend."

He continued: "Dreams" was the first song I ever knew the words to, even before I knew what the words meant. I thought it was a song about the weather. But I knew it was a beautiful song about the weather."

Nicks then delivered a charming, if rambling six-minute monologue about her life and career, speaking directly to her fellow women in music.

"What I am doing is opening up the door," she said, pushing for adding more women to t Rock Hall. "The times are different, and it's gonna be hard but I know someone will be able to do it, and I'll give enough interviews to tell you what to do."

Best of all, after posing for photos with Styles backstage, Nicks flubbed the name of Styles' former band, telling reporters she was an ’N Sync fan before groaning as she realized her mistake.

"I'm never going to live this one down," she said, shaking her head.
