Still no votes for Florida basketball in USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll

The last two games for Florida basketball were a vast improvement over its performance in the Phil Knight Legacy the week prior, albeit against inferior opponents. Following up a 1-2 showing out in Portland, Oregon, the Gators routed a pair of in-state foes in the Florida A&M Rattlers and Stetson Hatters to get the team heading back in the right direction.

However, despite the course correction, Todd Golden’s squad remains voteless in the most recent USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll update much like it was the two weeks prior. Florida managed to grab five votes in the preseason poll before dropping to just one ahead of the Florida Atlantic Owls loss. Since then, the voters have taken a dim view of the Gainesville crew and have omitted them from their ballots.

The Gators have a formidable foe coming up next on Wednesday night when the fifth-ranked UConn Huskies arrive in the O’Connell Center for a 9 p.m. EST tangle that will be broadcast on ESPN2.
