Police investigating racist flyers found in Stillwater

Some Stillwater residents Wednesday morning found racist messages on their properties tucked inside plastic bags of feed corn.

Stillwater Mayor Ted Kozlowski condemned the racist acts in a message shared on social media.

“This group of racist idiots does this all over the state in a poor attempt to get people riled up and to generate media attention,” Kozlowski wrote in a Facebook post.

Similar incidents have been reported in Lino Lakes and Cottage Grove.

Stillwater police are investigating, Police Chief Brian Mueller said. He said hundreds of flyers were distributed.

“It’s important to know these are not our people, they are not our neighbors, they are not from our town,” Kozlowski wrote. “In Stillwater we take care of each other. In Stillwater we welcome all. Even people that like Nickelback and the Packers.”
