Stillwater Schools Approve Calendar For 2022-23 Academic Year
STILLWATER, MN — Students in Stillwater Area Public Schools will have an extra day off over Thanksgiving and two full weeks of vacation for winter break next school year after the district’s board approved the calendar at a recent meeting.
The 2022-23 school year will start before Labor Day for the district’s middle and high schools, with students in grades 6 and 9 to return Aug. 29, and students in grades 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12 to return Aug. 30, according to the newly ratified calendar.
Students in kindergarten through fifth grade are scheduled to start the 2022-23 school year Sept. 6.

Officials said the staggered start dates have helped students get familiar with their new schools and classrooms in previous years.
The district’s Thanksgiving break will last from Nov. 23-25, while winter break will run from Dec. 22 until Jan. 4, 2023, the calendar shows.

Spring break is scheduled to run from March 20-24, 2023, with the school year tentatively scheduled to end June 7.

The Stillwater Area Public Schools board rejected a calendar that called for a shorter winter break and school to end on June 2, 2023.
