Sting to bring hit-filled 'My Songs, My World' tour to Austin's Moody Center

Sting will lead Austin on a journey from his early days with the Police to his storied solo career at the Moody Center. Tickets to the Sept. 17 show, one of nine additional dates added to the North American run of the British rock icon's "My Songs, My World" tour, will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday at Sting.com or moodycenteratx.com.

"I think audiences generally want to hear hits. They want to hear what they know," Sting said in a video about the show posted to the Instagram account of concert promotion juggernaut Live Nation. The video — which includes snippets of "Every Breath You Take," "Roxane," "Shape of My Heart" and "Englishman in New York" — underlines his gift for creating poetic rock masterpieces with broad popular appeal.

The tour has already been to United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore this year. Sting announced an initial round of 10 North American dates last week.

This will be Sting's first Austin tour stop since he played ACL Live in February 2017.
