The Sturgis Stingrays were represented by four individuals at the state meet held in Traverse City back on mid-February. The event took place at the YMCA facility at Grand Traverse Bay.

Each of the four individuals finished in the Top 20 for almost every race.

Samuel Miller (six years old) finished fourth in a pair of events — the 25 freestyle and the 25 backstroke. Miller also placed 13th overall in the 50 freestyle race.

Claire Flowers (eight years old) came in 12th position in the 25 freestyle. She also finished eighth overall in the 25 butterfly and 21st overall in the 25 backstroke. Flowers registered two personal best swims at the meet.

Isabell Wagner (eight years old) recorded one personal best swim at the event. She was 14th overall in the 25 freestyle and was 20th overall in the 25 backstroke. Wagner swam to 16th in the 100 freestyle.

Also competing at the event was Diamond Lane (eight years old). He finished with a fourth-place finish in the 100 freestyle. Lane also came in ninth overall in the 50 freestyle and 12th overall in the 25 freestyle. All three races were personal best swims for Lane.
