A Stockton man died in Medford, Oregon, on Monday from injuries sustained when his car rolled multiple times on Highway 199, according to the Oregon State Police.

Richard Gardea, 52, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado on the highway on Aug. 15 when his car left the road, hit the guardrail and rolled several times, according to police. Gardea was ejected from the car, police said.

Just before the crash, there were reports that the Silverado was driving recklessly, police said. Only one vehicle was involved in the crash, police said.

The highway was closed for about an hour and a half, and Gardea was transported to Rogue Regional Hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

Gardea died on Monday from the injuries, police said.
