Stockton PD, family still searching for answers in 2011 homicide case

A man was murdered in Stockton nine years ago, and now there’s a new appeal from his family and police to help find his killer. Tony Mendoza’s family put up some billboards seven years ago, and they say they are not giving up. Mendoza was killed in a shooting July 30, 2011. Stockton had a record-breaking number of homicides that year. “Although years go by, for our family, it's been nine years. The pain never goes away. You learn to move on, but it is more difficult when you don't have closure,” said Denise Estrada, Mendoza’s sister. “Maybe somebody remembers something or maybe it'll give someone the courage to speak about it, or give us some information they've been withholding,” said Rosie Calderon with the Stockton Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to call Stockton police, or Stockton Crime Stoppers.
