Siena Heights sophomore Cole VanWasshenova was awarded a Gold Glove at third base when the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference announced the yearly award recipients at the three pod locations Thursday afternoon.

Parker Swartz was the SHU representative on the Champions of Character team. Swartz also made the WHAC All-Academic squad. In addition, Collin Bammer, Zach Bloom, Cameron Hammer, Cody Henderson, Deven Hill, Christian Jabiro, Collin Mong, Anthony Scali, Jakob Scroggie, Brad South, Andy Stoll, and Chris Winkelman were also on the WHAC All-Academic list.

VanWasshenova played in 51 games this season. He totaled 43 putouts and 80 assists while only having two errors for a .984 fielding percentage.

"Cole was steady and reliable all year," head coach John Kolasinski said. "Recording only two errors in 51 games at that position is outstanding."
